IT NEVER RAINS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

There are so much smog over LAX that when it rains (i.e. if it ever rains) the rain water never reach the ground. Hence, the people of LAX hardly see any rain!! Unless there is a thunderstorm. Many of China's cities are also badly polluted. Out of the world's 10 most polluted cities, China had 7. Not a good sign. However China is doing everything possible to reduce the pollution. That's a good sign. Since the people rely so much on coal as a fuel, I guess it will be a long while before the pollution can be cleared. Is there an alternative to coal for the people? When will we see blue skies over the cities of China?

CONNY129 Points: Join Date: May 25, 2005 Status: Offline	of course ,there are some ways usually we use coal as fuel to heating against cold in winter ,but this year , it is not allowed to use coal as fuel any more .So , my room will be colder than before this year and next ~~ although I know it is good to the environment ,I still yearn those days central heating worked

Of cos there is alternative to cleaner fuels - LPG/LNG for example. It is just a question of money.
The richer countries who can afford cleaner fuels or who have progressed to the next level of development, can help the other countries minimise pollution by subsidising them to cheaper and cleaner fuels. But will they ??
Every country goes thru the same stage. China is at a stage that these richer and better developed countries have gone through before. Give China the chance and she will move out of this stage quickly.
