Hi, folks,
We are planning to visit China on april or may 2006. I would like to ask you few questions:
What is the exchange rate for the Chinese currency to the USD?
What are the prices for train tickets in those destinations:
Beijing - Xian
Xian - Shanghai
Shanghai - Guangzhou
Guangzhou - Hong Kong
Where I can find some cheap accomodation in Beijing and for what price?

Thanks in advance for your answers:)

Hi KONXOMPAX,

Accroding to the corrency converter at http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi the exchange rate between US dollar and CNY or RMB today is:
1.00 USD = 8.08160 CNY
1 CNY = 0.123738 USD

But since Chinese government made the currency policy shift a few month ago, Chinese Currency Renminbi keeps increasing in value - it does not mean things are cheaper, especially the imported products, because we did not see it:-), the life of Chinese' are not at all inflenced. Ok shift back to your questions:), anyway the exchange rate is floating now.

I am sorry about this question, but I know there are a few members here have the experiences of staying in the youth hostels in Beijing which are nice and clean. Hope the others could offer more information on this:-)
