![]() | Hi, I am planning to join an academy near Mt. Wudang to learn Tiaji. I want to know if any cheap accomodation (less than US$100) is available in and around Mt. Wudang. Also, how much will it cost to travel between Shiyan city and Mt. Wudang ? Gireesh Nambiar |

![]() | Your budget of us#100 - is it for a day, a week or for the duration of your stay there ? If it is for a day, us$100 is not budget accomodation -it is luxurious anywhere in China. |

![]() | The railway distance from Liu Li Ping to Wudangshan town is 11 kms, and will probably take you 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. The hard seat ticket price ranges from RMB2.5 to 10(US$0.3 -$1.2). There are also many mini-buses run between Liu Li Ping and Wudang town. The distance is about 15kms, price RMB10 for a half hour drive. |

![]() | Generally speaking, hotels&hostels in Wudangshan Town will be cheaper than that on the mountain. Usually for a bunk in hostel with basic facilities, the price will be around 15 to 50 yuan per night. That can be bargained a little lower if you stay for one month. So US100 for 1 month' accommodation is not a problem there. |

![]() | Thank you very much Catherine. I am very happy to know that accomodation is available from 15 yuan onwards. Thanks to other members for providing info on train/mini bus, etc. But now i am facing another problem. The academy is now saying that the rates they quoted are for a group of foreign students. For individuals they are charging an exhorbitant amount :((.... I am trying to find a good academy in wudangshan (or anywhere in China) to learn wudang taiji. Any info ? Many opine that wudang taoist kung fu academy only produces weekend warriors. Has anyone been there ? Gireesh Nambiar |
