I'm surprised that Wu Yue are not all listed on the top 10 .
what about
Mt. Huashan in Shaanxi Province,
Mt. Hengshan in Shanxi Province,
Mt. Songshan in Henan Province and
Mt. Hengshan in Hunan Province ?

Well, Conny, Wu Yue (The Five Sacred Mountains) may be the most famous, but not the most beautiful!

To conny:Wu Yue has a long history, and we knew them for a long time,so it is familiar to everyone!

But the new TOP10,most of them are strange, because as the development of tourism, many strange or virgin places can be known, and then,we can know Namjagbarwa Peak,Gongga Mountain......

So Wu Yue lost the TOP10 is normal!

that is to say ppl lost their interest in "old" traditional sightseeing and expect to see someplace unknown ?
But why still so many ppl head for Great Wall ? I think it also has a long long history :P

Ya, Cali, you are right. Since most of people were living in Middle China and the trasportation was not good in the past, it's hard for our ancestors to know how beautiful the mountains in Tibet and Yunnan and Sichuan are. Also, I think the famous Wu Yue are too lordly and over apotheosized.
