Between Lanzhou & Jiayuguan, which one is worth to visit if I'm short of time? The Thousand Buddha in Lanzhou and Thousand Buddha Cave in Dunhuang, which is better? Of it's quite similar?

The thousand Buddha Caves in Dunhuang is another saying of Mogao Grottes, and the thousand buddha caves in Lanzhou is just another saying of Binglingsi Grottes. Camparing the two, of course the Mogao Grottes in Dunhuang is more worth-visit for you.

OK. Thanks a lot. In that case, probably, I should go Jiayuguan instead of Lanzhou.

Of course the Thousand Buddha Caves is more worth of visit compared with the Bingling Grottoes which has some of the oldest caves in China and thankfully. Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is definitely the most worth paying a visit, with its most famous aspect of Dunhuang's grottoes is the murals that feature Buddhist stories, folk culture, farming, hunting as their main themes.

Both places has it's thousand buddha. My question is - isn't both places now filled with Hui Minorities, who are Muslims? Why is this so? How about Christianity?

There are some other minorities in Gansu, not only the Hui. Hui is the main minority in Gansu, with large population. Hui Minority is the Muslim.
