this is becoming a popular tourist destination. As such, there are numerous hotels here of varying standard and cost. Some of these places have a 50% foreigners surcharge, but prices in many of the hotels are reasonable.

hi, Handy!
If you will make a DIY trip in China, you should offer a tour arrangement or some ticket of air or train.

Do you have any recommendation of travel agency (which has website) or tour operators to arrange those tours, air tickets, and train tickets?

I heard that if we purchase the air-ticket in advance, we can get discounts. Is it true? Do you have any idea of this?

Hi, I've sent a note to you, please do check:D
Thoughtful tour operator will book these for you.

If you assure the exact date, I think you will get a little discount from booking the air ticket in advance.
