best shopping areas

I will really only have one day for shopping. I will be staying near Splendid China. My sis will be meeting there and she would like to do some shopping.

Where are the good shopping areas (not those big department stores). And can you advise me of location. I'd like to have an idea of how far it is from where I will be staying.

Hi Got2go,
There is the great big Luohu Commercial City shopping plaza located next to the Train Station and above the bus station. buses to and from the airport also leave from here so it's a good location with just about everything you could imagine under one roof.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for or if someone can offer anything better but I thought is was a good place to spend the few hours we had in Shenzhen.

Just bargain hard and watch your valuables. Have a good time
