hi everyone,

we are two germans from suzhou and anting. we are going to xian for this weekend to do some sightseeing and will arrive on friday morning already (30.12.). any interesting ideas where to spend new years even in xian.

because i (ioni) hate to be ripped of by chinese in any case, mostly transportation, we would like to reach all the attractions by ourself.

i read now busses #9, #306, 307 are common busses to use in xian.

any recommended routes and attractions.

i would be happy of any postings from you.

see ya

It must be very busy on new year's eve :p take part in some parties in bars or strolling on the streets to taste some local cate ,and what's more ? let me think for a while ^_*

there are not specially common busses ,just choose the one which can bring you get to where you want to go

Big wild goose pagoda ,Terra cotta warriors ,Bell tower are must imo , and Muslim Street near Drum tower is where you can taste the delicacy

well we will arrive by train on friday morning and go to shu yuan youth hostel.

i have been reading many postings on this forum and think i know what i wanne see and where to go.

i mean we two wanne have a chilly weekend, combining xian must sees with a happy, relaxing time.

i am especially interested in the muslim quarter coz i love to eat yiang rou..hehehehe..

is there any nice chinese restaurant or tea house, where u can have a tea listening to some live traditional chinese music or seeing a dancing show or even chinese opera etc.

but i am not talking of things like this tang paradise show...thats too much tourism like.

Have you booked a room already in Shu Yuan Hostel ? I'm not sure wether it is still opening :(

tea house --yeah!!
a famous valley called De Fu Xiang , located near south street , walking distance from Shu Yuan Hostel , you can find all famous tea houses and coffee bars there ,some tea houses hold tea performance at night with live traditional chinese music ,you can enjoy the old-timey there !

tip: get off train station ,you can take double-decker bus No.603 to the South Gate Stop .

yes i called them already and they have plenty of room.

wow this sounds all so fantastic...i am really excited.

on the internet it says that you can actually take a bath in the hot springs. does it cost extra and we have to wear bathing suits and bring our own towels right?

i plan to go to the terracotta army in the morning first and on the way back stop at the hot springs and take a nice relaxing bath....this is possible right?
