The best attractions for a first visitors to Beijing must be the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Whenever you come to Beijing, don't miss these places. :)

We are planning on coming there next week, is it easy to find a student guide of some kind, or is it OK for us to get around by ourselves(first timer)

You can get around by yourself. Use the metro and taxis.

Hi,Idah,

You can go to Liulichang for shopping chops and chinese calligraphy!Of course, you can bargain with them!

You can walk from Tian'anmen Square,or take the subway, get off at Hepingmen station, then go to the south, you will find it!

Have a nice trip!
