I am looking for someone who is living in Chengdu and can come with me as I visit apartments and help translate and ask questions. The perfect person is someone who can speak perfect Chinese and very good English and would like to make friends with me and help me on my search. i just gone through <the rules about control of estate of foreigner in china>(i dunno izit a right translat,but more o less) released by development dept of china. it was stated that foreigners r able to hold estate include private apartment,condo....bla bla legally acording to the law. but of course u have pay deed tax. so far as i know this was released almost 7years or longer, i think ur friend just didnt get the right way or misunderstood something.
