Stay away from Train Stations, don't talk to people wandering around the railway stations of any city, even those in some kind of uniforms.

Good luck!

That's right, "stay away from railway stations" is golden rule for both Foreigners and Chinese. I got cheated a small amount of money when I bought drinks inside the railway station. Not a big loss, but I felt terrible.

One week before new year, platform ticket is not sold in most cities. In my opinion, keep away from train station, long-distance shuffle bus station and in Shanghai keep away from the crossroad of Zhejiang Road and Guangdong Road since it is a community of minority Chinese-Muslims, where people there are selling drugs to foreigner travellers and steal things a lot.

GUEST01539 Please include on your list of scam places this coffee shop:
Sundy Coffee, 558 7th Floor Nanjing East Road, Shanghai.
The coffee or tea is 50 RMB, but one Scotch (diluted by water 50-50).will take you down for 300 RMB. Do not go there - waitresses and your invitee collaborate and overpriced drinks are ordered behind your back very quickly. At the end you are left with a hefty bill to pay. Typical tea shop abd coffee shop scam.
