How to get to Lhasa? Best Budget Route?

Hi! I am based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. What's the best/budget way to get to Lhasa? What are the must see in Lhasa?

Tibet is special, only five cities have the direct flight to Lhasa. They are: Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Hong Kong, and Katmandu. So you'd better get to one of these city at first:D

If your time permits, I would recommend the route like: flight to Chengdu - Chengdu flight to Lhasa-Lhasa to Kathmandu by overland- Kathmandu to Malaysia by air.

If you have tight schedule, directly flight to Kathmandu and transfer to Lhasa by overland
