Buying Vitamin Tablets In Chengdu

I walked into a pharmacy shop in town and tried to buy some vitamin tablets. I could not find them. The shop assistant recommended to me some chinese pills which she say work just as good. I did not buy them since there are no english instructions. Is it difficult to buy vitamin tablets in other cities?

Vitamins are readily available in China but not so cheap and perhaps there is no guarantee of quality.

Having said that I came across vitamins manufactured by an Austalian company that I have never heard of in a city in Sichuan, Nanchong which is a few hours from Chengdu. They were all labled in English and Chinese, I guess to have more of an international image for marketing purposes.

Just keep looking and you will be surprised what you might find. I usually am. I once bought Golden Syrup in a small market in Guiyang. Last place I expected to find it and I wasn't even looking for it - just saw it so bought it in case I never did see it again.
