Forbidden City Status

We are planning to travel to China later this year. News reports say that parts of the Forbidden City are closed for repairs until the 2008 Olympics.

- What is the status of the repairs?
- What can and cannot be seen?
- How has this affected the tours and their visits to the Forbidden City?

Tourists are not able to visit Taihedian (Hall of Supreme Harmony) in Forbidden City since Jan.6, 2006. In order to protect and repair the ancient Forbidden City, Taihedian will be closed till the end of 2007. Other halls will be opened as usual during the whole process.
