The South Silk Road-the ancient Tea-horse Road-may pass Jiuzhaigou.
The silk road starts from Xi'an, the captial of Tang Dynasty about 1,300 years ago. It passed through Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, central asia and maybe extended to Europe.

Juizhaogou does not seem to be on any thoroughfare. It is quite isolated deep in the mountains.

The southern Silk Road passed through the Ancient Shudao Pass near Jiangyou and Mianyang in Sichuan on the route south from Xian to Yunnan Province
