We plan to travel to Hong Kong again and would like to do it as
close as possible to New Year Celebration (February 9?) in 2005
in order to see decorations. We plan on shopping in HK and
Shenzen; we've heard many stores and shops close during the
celebrations. When is the BEST time to go to shop AND see the
lights in Hong Kong? Need urgent reply! Thank you!!

The Chinese New Year's Eve will come on Feb 8th, 2005. Not all shops and stores will be closed during the New Year's holiday. They will just close earlier than before. You'd better go shopping during 10:00-16:00. In many cities, the holiday is just the high time for shopping, and you will find more people than usual in the street.

Hope you have a pleasant New Year's tour in Hong Kong.
