Hi,Dudehat,

My advice:
1. Restaurants and bars
I don't know your taste,but I think most chinese food were delicious,try to eat them.
For bars,I like Hou Hai bar street!

2. Shopping
Silk Street and Ya Xiu Market were both worth to visit for shopping,pls bargain and bargain.

3. Live music
Actually,I listend the music in bars.

RITA Points: Join Date: May 10, 2005 Status: Offline	I think many people are just "lonely-planetED", most nice and local places/restaurants/ bars/ shopping areas were not listed in the guide books published by Lonely Planet. If you really need, the list will be very long, not only in Beijing, but also all the other places worthwhile for a trip(maybe two.) :P
