In the past, singers don't really earn that much money. Nowadays most of the good popular singers are millionaires. Sing a song and make a million. Don't have to work.

With 1.3 billion chinese, it is not difficult to make a million. I think many singers started by singing in the showers. You can try.

Hi, 5566, why do you choose such a name? You are a fan of a musical band named 5566, right?

Maybe that's why programs like Super Girl in mainland, American Idol in US are so popular now.
Youngsters want to be singers, then become millionaires.

Yes Peacock, you are right. They are a talented bunch of guys.

Singing is such a great pastime in China and elsewhere. Karaoke is one of modern world's great inventions. Everyone in the family can participate and enjoy karaoke. And many will become good singers and make million$.

Ah yes, how lovely it would be to get paid handsomely for your songs. I tried to make a living with my music (original songs) here in America in the 1980's. Alas, though the patrons to bars and other small venues seemed to like my music, the music publishers and record companies at that time rejected me. So eventually, I moved on to other pursuits.

When I visited China last year, I played guitar and sang one of my songs for free at an outdoor cafe. The Chinese audience was very kind. They seemed to like my music.

So, now I can say that I have played my music on two continents. I may never get rich materially, but I have the satisfaction of knowing that my music was/is appreciated.

Hi, California, once I listened a guitar song by a handsome young man or rather big boy in a big open square. It is beautiful. Many people stopped and enjoyed his melodious voice. He kept smiling to everybody.

It really needs bravery and confidence to sing songs in open squares. :)

Singing ability is something given when people were born. Singing in public needs not only courage and confidence, but also talent. (There are exceptions when less talented people performing in public with an excessive confidence, they may get one same thing back as the real talented people: attention)
