China is blessed with vast territory and rich culture. As an indispensable part of Chinese culture, marriage customs varies a lot due to the different regions, or even differs from village to village.

In my hometown matchmaker still plays a very important role in a marriage. After a successful meeting of a boy and a girl (always love at the first sight), they will get engaged with a lot of guests as eyewitness. After that they will come to know each other. Usually they will get married after one or two years' if everything is OK. One interesting thing for me on the right day of marriage is that the bridegroom must pull on a pair of new red shoes for the bride.

What about the marriage customs in your hometown?

But now in cities and especially metropolis, many customs are forgotten by people. Most of bride wear white dress which was believe unlucky by tradition! But who cares? They like because it is a kind of fashion, a western style but now a fashion in China.

Sorry if I make this 'romantic' post less romantic. It's about the bridegroom holding and carrying the bride to the new room, what happens if the bridegroom not strong enough to do that...?

So that the brige will carry bridegroom...

Hi, rita, cute question. It presents a funny picture in front of me, you know. I have no idea of that. But just cross the bridge when you come to it(船到桥头自然直), nothing more.
