Hi,

A newbie here.=)
Will be holidaying to shanghai, hangzhou & suzhou next month.

Any ideas what local tibits which is a must buy from these places?

Hangzhou: Ou3 Fen3, or powder of the lotus root, which can be boiled with hot water to form a paste-like substance for dessert

Suzhou: Zong4 Zi Tang2 (dumpling-shaped sweet) AKA Song1 Zi Tang2 (pine nut sweet). These are made of malt sugar (mai4 ya2 tang2) in a small dumpling shape (bite-sized) and have pine nuts in them.
