What would be appropriate gifts for a family in China? I have traveled several places and it seems to be the custom to bring a gift for a host family or the family of friends. So, what is an appropriate gift? I have read that Chinese are practical people and like things that can be seen. Any thoughts, ideas?

I think Chinese people wouldn't care about what the gift it is so much. You know, your presence and visit would be a great gift to them. About the gift, I think something with full feature of your country or national trait would be Ok :D
