| Shanghai is nice but being your 1st time to China, maybe u should also drop into Beijing. It's historical, safe & easy to travel. Can also see what the British/French did to this beautiful city 1 century ago ! I will be around SH a week earlier than u. Hope to run into you at the airport on my departure. |

| Well, I already said I'm studying here. I'm in my 3rd year at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, faculty of traditional Chinese instruments. You only have 6 days... I'd advise you to leave Beijing for another trip when you can afford to give it more time, or you won't do it justice. If you want to spend some time out of Shanghai, you can consider visiting Nanjing, Suzhou or some of the surrounding water villages (eg Xitang, Tongli, Luzhi) instead. I'd recommend Hangzhou as well, but you've already mentioned that you're going there to visit friends. |
