I am going to arrive in Hong Kong on the 7th of March and leave China from Shanghai on the 25th of May. Unfortunately, I have read so many articles that I am a bit confused of where to go/ what to do and which things better to leave for another time. Can anyone give me some tips how to organize these three weeks in the best way? Does anyone want to meet during this time as I would love to meet some people over there?

Hong Kong -> 2 nights Guilin + Yangshuo -> 3~4 nights Xian -> 2~3 nights Beijing -> 3 ~4 nights Shanghai -> 2 nights If you want to travel with leisure and enjoy everything slowly, you can add about 1 night's stay in each of the above destinations. But if you prefer to cover as many places as you can in a very fast pace, you can jam the 3 nights' Yangtze River Cruise between Guilin and Xian. Have a good time!

Hi Winne, Beijing, Xian and Guilin are all top cities in China. If ever possible, you shouldn't miss these places.

Hi Ellyse, it would be great to meet you in Shanghai. I think I am quite easy to please regarding my holidays as long as I do not pass them entirely in my hotel room or beach ;-) I like to be bussy, but I don't mind a few relaxing breaks. I would like to experience the culture/people/customs as much as possible within this short time. So I don't need to see every touristic place, if I can experience much more interesting things. If you have some time and don't mind an overexcited German tourist, please let me know. My schedule is not fixed yet as I am trying to work out a visit to a friend from Shenzhen. But I think I should arrive in Shanghai on the 22-24 May. Thanks for your offer!
