Sorry I'm late! I went to climb the mountains during the weekend and the weather were great at that time. But now, Monday, Apr. 3, it's raining in Xian!! I like it cos it's too dry recently. Luckily, it's not too cold in Xian. About 10~15 degree.

I went to Taiping National Forest Park which is a part of Qin Ling Range. We reached the top and found a fabulous waterfall with frozen pond beneath its feet. You know, it's already April, and many of us are wearing T-shirt! So it's a funny thing to see people wearing T-shirt and standing on the ice and snow!! Soooo cool~~

Very interesting, Cali.

There are many National Forest Park in Xian. If u like to travel with locals but not tourists, I suggest those Parks. Qin Ling Range, which is the border of North and South China, are great and marvellous, named Central Park of China :}}} I think the best time to visit is from the Apr. to Oct. It might be too cold in winter and dangerous. If u are lucky enough, u may encounter wild Giant Panda and Snub-nosed Monkey!!

Good question, Cali. Taibai Mountain is also a part of the Qin Ling Range. It's also the highest mountain in Shaanxi Province, even higher than Mt. Hua. I went to there once before when I was about 15 or 16. The top of the mountain are covered by snow and ice even in June & July. I stayed in a farmer's house and enjoy the night without electricity. Dark but also pretty since the stars were shining!! Very very very beautiful and grand!

Mountains of Qin Ling Range are not in the hot list of tourists, but if u really like mountains and wild life, please go to visit them!! Of course, be careful if u want to camp in the mountains!!
