Hi everybody, I will be travelling a big week in Xian mid-April, and would be interested to know if there are any flea markets in the city. I've been living for 5 years in Japan, and going to such places have always been a great way to learn about history and the way of life, and also a chance to speak with the locals. Thanks for your answers. Mathieu

I'm only here a few days myself but I have come across an area that might interest you. It's close to The Drum Tower which is in the centre of Xian. There is another area close to the South Gate of the wall but it deals in more upmarket stuff. May not be exactly what you want but hope it helps.

Hello, as for a flea market, search for the Tao temple between the east gate and the second ring road (when you leave the east gate, it is to your left side). The market in front of the temple is every Sunday and ...Tuesday or Wednesday... not sure. Here you find antiques from the cultural revolution time and before, way before:-). I know it is too late for your April visit, but others might be interested. Harald
