![]() | Most of the sites in China involve a lot of walking and climbing. I traveled to China twice with my parents and my Mother has bad knees. Our first trip included Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and other surrounding cities and was with a tour group. For the second trip, we explored Beijing, Xian and surrounding cities on our own. Our first trip with the tour was intense and we could barely keep up with the group. When we went on our own for the second trip, it was much easier. We were able to take our time. My Mom even walked a good section of the Great Wall. RE: Great Wall While the Great Wall is not the tallest structure you will climb in China, it's one of the hardest because of the unequally sized steps. Some portions look like they were built for giants! The section at Ba Da Ling is more crowded, but a bit easier and safer. China is doable on a pair of bad knees though there will be some difficult climbs. You can always pass on whichever ones you want. During our tour, there was always the option of waiting at the bottom or taking an easier route to meet up with the rest of the group... I think many of the sites are designed that way. I hope you guys decide to go. China and its sites are unbelievable. looking for a tour guide? http://www.chinatravelerservice.com/ chinatravelerservice.com|guide 86-592-8489012 |
