Hi,

I will be in Suzhou in May for 3-6 months. Can anyone give me an idea for budget to mid price rental costs.

Thanks,

Ben

Whichever works out the cheapest, overall.

At rock bottom you can live on about USD10,00 living in a hostel and eat like a local. If that is acceptable, you don't have to bother to rent an apartment there. But sharing room with others for 3~6 months is quite a concern.

Renting a one or two bedroom apartment in the downtown area may cost at most rmb1500 per month with basic or good furnitures, a breakdown of about rmb50 yuan per day, close to the cost of a bunk of shared room in a hostel. But renting an apartment means you can have a little bit more privacy.

Cheers Rita,

That's the info I need.

If I come up to Suzhou and stay in a hotel first, do you think I will find a apartment real quick at that price range.

Thanks,

Ben
