Hi MAZPHD, I don't think u need malaria tablets in most part of China while traveling. China is quite safe and hygeian, at least in cities. For the other questions u mentioned, u can search on this forum and find the answers of all most everything since we have already discussed most of the concerns before. If u have any further questions, don't hesitate to let us know~ Good luck and enjoy ur stay in China!

Hahaha, I think ChinaCute has a point, our PHD friend ! U have too much concerns & seems paranoid. Just come and enjoy. Whatever u need, u can get it in China anyway. Rest assured that the country is not undeveloped - just that it is probably not given much good publicity over your side of the globe. This coming trip will be a real eye-opener for you. I am almost certain that you will fall in love with the country and will want to return.

In August in Mallorca, a little island in the Mediterranean Sea, is always sunny and warm...that's the usual! But one day, the day you least expect it, it rains!!! That's not reason enough to carry with you all the time an umbrella. But I also tell you something, rainy days everyone would wish have one! What I mean is, been prepared and cautious is always good...so if you're going to Hainan, I defenetely would recommend you to take the pills. I shouldn't worry about big cities and northern places, there's no risk of malarya in urban areas or places with a lot of people leaving there. But if I were you I wouldn't miss rural areas in the south of China, they are simply amazing and special, and there you would need them, because you never know... If you're not going to those rural places, but still are afraid about malarya (something impossible to get in cities, as we all already told you), then just use stark insect repelents and have extra vitamine C tablets or powders (vitamine C repels moskitos)...but don't take the pills because they make you really sick! And I guess you won't like to spend your all holidays throwing up and resting in bed.
