Is there a difference between the Horned Miao and the Long-horn Miao? I am interested in the Horned Miao, any info or links would be appreciated. In what villages do they reside? Thanks!!

Hi there, If you google 'horned miao' you will find a few sites to look at. This one below seems quite comprhensive. I think there are just the long horned people group however most of them wear horned shaped silver headwear but the horned Miao whear a special wooden frame to wrap thier hair around. They certainly are and interesting group fo people mostly in southern China. http://www.joshuaproject.net/

A little more research has revealed that there are indeed two vareities and probably more. Horned Miao and the long horned Miao. I have seen a documentary about some very isolated long horned Miao in Gunagzhou I think or southern Guangxi????

The horned miao (Jiaojiao Miao) and the long horned miao(hmong vron) are classified as different people. Other distantly related. Their dialects are different and there are many more horned miao (up to 75,000 approx) than the long horned (5000). I'm not sure how much that helps you.
