Of course you can rest assured using mail services in China. At least I have never had problems or mis-deliveries with my mails (parcels).

Here I have some suggestion:
1, You'd better have both the detailed addresses PRINTED instead of writen, many people i know have problems recognize the writen english by westerners, such as -r-, -4- and -6-, etc. Or your write with print style English

2, Wocca was right, if you have them in Chinese, it will greatly help.

My experience with posting parcels to China ( airmail from Australia)has been that they ultimately get to their destination, but take from three to seven weeks. And that is to Nanjing.

Never had any problems recieving mailin China and no one else I know has any hooror stories. some things take longer than others.

A tip for all of you

In China Mail is addressed like this with the county first and name last

PRC CHINA
City
District and postcode
Street and apartment address
Your name

And yes it will help if you can get at least your address in characters but not necessary especially if you don't know the correct stroke order and try to copy them yourself.
