I know most of us who travel to China for business/work don't have time to attend classes etc in their own home country or China. I hardly get one month stay but I get that after every 2 months. I was wondering if someone has any idea/book/videos etc that taught some Chinese and has been the best help. I think learning Mandarian is the best thing as it is spoken as National language. As a start, I would recommend anyone visiting China to get hands on this book. Survival Chinese by Don Snow. It has helped in giving a quick start and can help in shopping etc.
