Question about traveling the Palace Museum

Hi, my family is planning to visit China for the first time next month, we are still planning as to which city we should visit, but we'd like to go to Beijing. Now some friends heard & told me that the Beijing Palace is closed for renovation. I'be been trying so hard to search for such news online but unsuccessful. Would anyone out there have any idea? Thanks!

You can visit the Forbidden City next month,and there are some parts of the palace are renovating!

As beijing is preparing for the 2008 olympic games some of the beautiful buildings are being restored. For example, the Temple of Heaven is under restoration work. However, most of those places are composed of a variety of different temples so people can visit most of them. For example, The Temple of Heaven is a big park in which you can visit 4 or 5 different buildings, it happens that the main one is under restoration (until April 30th) but you can still admire it and take some pictures from outside. I assure you that it is worth to visit even considering this fact. Summer Palace is a huge park in which the main building is under restoration work too but this park has many different attractions that you won´t regret the visit. I hope this information can help you.
