 | Hello All, I am planning a trip to Juizhaigou in May. I have heard that the airport will be closed for repair. Can some one confirm this ? Thanks Kin |

| No. The Jiuzhaigou airport is very new, I don't think it needs repair:-) |

| Where did you hear that??? Highly unlikely but if you are told that you cannot get a flight then this may be the reason. You may not be given any reason. It is a high altitude airstrip and may suffer from the cold but as Rita says it is very new!!!!!! Take the bus and enjoy the trip if it is indeed closed for any reason. |

| Thanks for the replies I have been enquiring with several HK Travel agnecies and told me that the airport will be closed in early - middle May. This is my source. Anyway, it is starnge for new airport to be closed for maintenance. Have the road improve as well ? I heard in the past, it was quite dangerous. |

| The roads around JZG are good. The roads leading from Chengdu to JZG go through mountainous areas - I won't term it as dangerous, with responsible driving. Anyone coming from developed areas like HK, will find roads in the countryside of China "dangerous" compared to roads in their own countries. How dangerous is dangerous will depend on your own perception. Everyday people travel along these "dangerous" roads - no doubt with some casualties. But so are there on "good & safe" roads. |

| It turns out to be true, the airport will be closed during May 8 ~ June 11. |
