Is from Tiananmen Square to Mutianyu Great wall is 400 RMB. Is it a good fare by car?

if take taxi, it would be a little bit expensive. Why not to take the bus at the Dong Zhi Men?

It is very unnecessary to take taxi to Mutianyu Great wall. Take metro to Dong Zhi Men, and then take 916 and 936 at the Dong Zhi Men long distance bus station to Huairou County, and transfer to Mutianyu by minibus or taxi. That would be cheaper.

What will be the total price for 2 adults and 2 kids by taking train and bus.

I think you'd better take the same taxi back if you want to be back at the same day. If that, the price could be much cheaper.
