Ever since the western world came to know about China and started trading with her, they have always been in a deficit. Simply because China has everything they need; whilst the west wants almost everything the Chinese have. As a result they couldn't afford to pay for their purchases. Thus came all the wild ideas to invert the balance - the most notorious being the British selling opium to China.
Now, the USA are trying to impose Intellectual Rights + other restrictions in an attempt to do the balancing act. It is history repeating itself over and over again - with new ideas from the West.

Domestic violence continues to be an epidemic in California.Despite a myriad of laws aimed at protecting victims of intimate partner violence and preventing future domestic violence crimes, daily media reports document grim stories of domestic violence that devastate families and leave children without parents.

In 2002, California local law enforcement agencies received 196,569 domestic violence-related calls for assistance. During that same year, there were 153 murders committed as a result of intimate partner violence and 50,479 juveniles and adults were arrested for spousal abuse under Penal Code section 273.5.

Many Asians believe that physical punishment of their children for a disciplinary purpose could not constitute a child abuse case. The concept of child abuse within the family and public intervention in private family matters for the sake of child protection is rather foreign and unnacceptable to many immigrant Asian families.

Chinese Americans are the fastest growing ethnic group among Asian groups.

There are shelters and organizations in California that provide a safe place to stay, and counseling for women and their children whose safety is in danger as a result of beatings and other violence by their spouses and lovers. For emergency help and more information about where to find safety if you are in danger from your spouse or lover, many shelters have a 24-hour crisis \"hotline\" for telephone counseling.

Many women\'s help groups have the word \"women\" in the name of the group. Look in the phone book under \"women\" for the names of particular groups to help you. Some examples are:

San Francisco

Women\'s Centers, Inc., a group that coordinates women\'s events in the Bay Area: (415) 431-1180
Women Against Rape (WAR), offers physical and psychological therapy for women in trauma:
(415) 647-7273 (24 hour crisis number)
Los Angeles

Women\'s Employment Action League
(Beverly Hills)
(818) 345-1442

American society is an amazing machine for homogenizing people. Today the messages your average Westerner is bombarded with are not religious but commercial. Its not difficult to spot someone out to make a buck by promoting an airline, travel agency, holiday [travel] destination,or a special lifestyle or group of people. Some East Asians are simply more reluctant to talk about their private life than the average American. But it\'s not as if earlier times didn\'t know perpetual war, disaster and the massacre of innocents. The genetic difference between humans and chimps is roughly 2% and the average American would not know the difference between one Asian and another !!!!

Most important, any person who claims to be different from the rest of us does not believe truth is plural.

What a moment this would be for a vigorous anti-death penalty movement to surge upward in California. Death sentences were carried out with a rope tied to a strong limb, often a limb on the Hanging Live Oak.

Fasten your seat belts - you can bet your bottom dollar that history will keep on repeating itself over and over and over again.
