Hi there
I would like to know if it is possible to open a bank account in Hong Kong.My purpose is to travel China as a backpacker for several months and I would like to know if there is a local Chinese card by which I can withdraw money out of ATM machines all over China ( by opening a local bank account in Hong Kong )? have you done so ?

Should be doable,
Most of us living in china have chinese bank accounts which we operate from at ATM's all over the country.

Just check with the HK issuing bank but you should also be able to withdraw from your own national account if you have a debit card with Cirrus Plus access and no need to open a HK account. Check with your own bank first.
