Because the National Day holiday and May Day holiday are the only chance for travel, it would be absolutely crowded at that special time.
You can choose some near and small spot to spend the national days.
Where are you now, in Sichuan?

Hey, where are you now? From the survey about tourism of this coming National Day holiday, Sichuan is a hot spot, I think it mainly because of the Jiuzhaigou Valley.
If you are in Sichuan, you can choose other place as your destination, such as Kangding, Emeishan or Leshan.

Kangding is a beautiful Sichuan city featuring grassland, alpine lakes, virgin forest, glaciers and snow-capped mountains. Called Dajianlu or Lucheng in old times, Kangding is the legendary place where Zhuge Liang, the famous strategist of Three Kingdoms, made stoves into arrows. 335 kilometres west of Chengdu, Kangding lies by the rushing Zhepuo River, which flows at the bottom of a steep valley. As the capital to the Garze Tibetan Ethnic Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, Kangding is a culturally rich area, home to several lamaseries dotted in and around the city.

What about it? ^_^
