hello I would like to go to Xian by plane for just one day starting from Beijing. Main reason is to see the terracotta warriors. I already read a lot of good hints for buses starting from city center Xian. Can someone tell me if there is an option to get a transfer directly from the airport to the warriors and how long it takes? How many kilometers is this?

hello, I think you want to be in and out on the same day. To organize that I would contact any travel agency in Beijing or Xi'an and for about 800 to 1000 RMB you should get it including tour guide and lunch. At the airport you will not find the oportunity to organize it, but of course you can always ask a taxi driver (if you speak chinese).

ops, forgott the facts... the museum is about 45-55 km away from the airport. By car you need about 1h 10 min. From the parking lot to the museum you need about 10 min. to walk. For the museum you need about 2h to 3h (start with the movie, go to the left from the entrance), on the way back you might need 20 min. for buying stuff.
Have a nice day

Could you take the overnight Z train from Beijing to Xi'an and back instead? That'd give you more time to get to the Terracotta Warriors, than taking a plane. There's a good public bus that goes to the Terracotta Warriors (and back, of course) from around the Xi'an train station.
