I want to stop in Shanghai for a couple days. How many days would be a perfect amount keeping in mind the following points?
- I will most likely stay in a hostel
- I will be travelling alone
- I will be travelling on a budget
- I want to experience the city but don't want to spend vast amounts of time in museums and other historical sites

Two or three days is plenty.

Have a walk around the Bund and then make your way through the old French quater and consession areas and the gardens and maybe the markets. That should be enough walking for two days and you'll see heaps too
Best way tot do it.

I think only two days is ok!

There was nothing in that modern city!
