Hi, me again. I just went back and read all the replies to your message and discovered your British, not American. Advice still stands, but I wanted to apologize for assuming you are American. You know how we are though, we always assume the rest of the world revolves around us!!! I hope you won't hold it against me, lol!

Stick it out - you need to make contacts... I have a similar problem. I am very isolated teaching in the NORTH, so don't assume it's all happening up here! I am also told it is far more conservative up here (Hebei) than in the south. Good idea from Jabarootoo, join the Hash (on-on), unless the idea of a social run is too much like hard work and don't enjoy a few beers...! I made friends with a couple of locals through the internet and that has really helped... that way I can get away from the college environment and they provide help in the city.

Hi Johnny The size of a rain drop would not last too long, i think. It's the longest duration of pouring since i lived here. As soon as the sun come out u will feel different. I like this city even though the air is getting worse. If u get time, indulgent me a call at 22086979. I could show u some inexpensive high quality gourmet food around city not to mention culture things. Keep warm John Lin

Wow thank you guys for such warm replies, I am already falling in love with China. I find that the people are very polite, warm hearted and very helpful. The food is quality, I can sit in those resturants stuffing my face all day. And beer is super cheap! No more 5 pound a pint in London!!! Thanks JOHNLINN888/FONG I'll be sure to give you a bell when I have some time off. Hopefully we can exchange some British and Chinese culture. Thanks again very much appreciated. Thank you all and thanks you to the geniuses who made this site!!!
