Today my passport and I hope visa arrived in the mail but I will collect it from the post office tomorrow.

On Friday I will be returning to China for my fourth year of teaching again in Chongqing where I think I have just as much in storage as I have left at home here in Australia.

I'll spend most of the summer travelling and participating in a teacher training school in Nanjing before returning to Chongqing to take up a new contract for the next school year. I am looking forward to returning to my second home and seeing my freinds again.

One of the special things about my return is being back in time for one of my friend's wedding, my fifth Chinese wedding the less than four years. I understand it is an auspicious symbol for the bride and groom to have guests come from far countries. It will also be a surprise for them.

I leave behind an early winter cold snap but have still been able to swim in my beloved Pacific Ocean and enjoy the heat of the sun most days.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome back. I'm feeling a little cool here during my last couple of days but hope to swim at least one more time in the ocean.

and California I will take you up on the HUG when I get to Biejing later in the summer. I'll let you know when i'm arriving and look forward to finally meeting you face to face.
