Things to do in Dalian

Hi to all,
I am coming to Dalian in October for 7 weeks, for my job in Melbourne.
Is anybody out there who lives in Dalian. If you can suggest a good place to unwind on the weekend (if that is possible in China) interesting shopping areas, tea houses, massage places (bathhouses?) and daytrips, i would be very grateful.
