I am a danish guy who want to visit Hainan and Sanya in the end of
january 2004. I read your note in the travelchinaguide about renting a
bike. That makes me put up some questions for you.
If you would like to answer them, I'll be very happy !

1)
Do they require any driving license, because I have heard that even
foreigners need a chinese driving license ?
But I don't know the chinese requirements for bikes...

2)
Are there any insurance in case of accidents ?

3)
Where did you rent the bike ?

4)
Was the bike for 2 persons ?

5)
What was the price for renting ?

6)
How was the trip, do you have more useful informations ?

I hope that you have the time to answer !

Best regards from
Carsten (danish guy)

Hi, Carsten!
The precondition of driving in China for foreign traveller is he should have the drive license permitted by China. But the International Drive License is unavailable in China!

The price is flexible according to the grade of the bike you want to rent. The common price is about 200RMB per day. You can via the local travel agency rent bike.

If your trip was arranged by the travel agency, and you signed the contract. Of course you have Travel Agencies' Liability Insurance with the tour inside China.
