| Argh was trying to correct those wrong posts. 150 RMB not 250 RMB. "There are numerous buses each day from Guangzhou to Yangshuo and these depart from several bus stations in Guangzhou for simplicity, we will recommend the bus station near the main train station. If you are facing the train station, the bus station is about 200m to your left. Buses to Yangshuo depart at 11am, 8.30pm and 10.30pm. Tickets cost 150 Yuan and the trip is taking about 8 hours. These buses are seater buses. The two late ones have very comfy seats." |

| The bus terminal at Guangzhou station has to pay high taxes, so tickets there are always more expensive than the same journey returning to GZ. If you purchase a ticket at the tourist office rather than the ticket office, then it gets marked up further. If anyone is planning on the same journey, I would suggest getting the overnight train to Guilin and then the bus to Yangshuo. That by the way should be a maximum of 15 yuan for the direct (no stopping at the side of the road to allow people on every 200 metres) bus. The train is far more comfortable and far safer and about the same price. It does however take a couple more hours, but who is in a hurry? There are many good hotels in YS for 50 - 80 yuan per room. No need to book - just turn up, although having a chinese person asking about the rate always seems to work favourably! I love Yangshuo, although such a shame it is becoming so commercialised. There is even a KFC on West Street now - so sad. |
