taking the train from shanghai to beijing???

hello everyone,
im thinking of going to beijing using the train on july 10. is there a way we can reserve are seats? anyone know how fast the seats will fill up and where to purchase the tickets?

There are many daily departure(about 10) to BJ & the journey takes about 12 hrs. Don't think u need to book well in advance - esp this is not the peak period (shoulder period, I understand).

Most probably July, 10th will be the peak time for student-transport. There will be lots and lots students swarming into the railway station.They will go home to enjoy the summer vacation. Train is their first choice for always.

If ever possible please avoid this peak time.

Yes, you can always buy tickets in advance. Generally five to ten days before.

can you buy them from the interent? if not, where in china can u buy them?
