1) Not sure, sorry.
2) Perhaps.
3) I think so, but you might have to transit in Xiamen. When are you travelling?
If you have any more queries, email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line, thanks.

No direct buses from Shenzhen or Hong Kong to Jinshi. Get a bus to Chaozhou and then figure out from there. Arriving in Shenzhen airport would be better.

There is no ferry from HK to Shantou. You can take A43 airport shuttle bus to Sheung Shui and then change MTR to Lowu. Cross the border you will reach to Shenzhen. Then go to Luohu Bus Station to take long distance bus to Shantou. Time: around 4 hours. Ticket: 150-180 RMB.

GUESTGUESTSG Hi, my paternal family have been living outside China for very long, I am the 8th generation of Chinese living outside China, but my maternal family side left China for Singapore in 1930s. I will be heading to Chaozhou on 27th Oct, is there anywhere I can trace my maternal ancestry? If there is, please advise address and location.
