The main holidays and festivals in China can be divided into two major categories : Festivals are associated with the traditional lunar calendar and official holidays are goes by the common know calendar. As the western has more and more influence today's China, Chinese also start celebrating some western festival like Valentine's Day and Christmas.

Of course, shopping centers in Shenzhen are open at Mid Autumn festival. However, during the Spring Festival, shopping centers are usually closed for seven days (from January 1st to 7th on Lunar calendar).
