Many Chinese men in the 1950s venture overseas to seek a better life. Most of them are from Shanghai, Fujian or Guandong and they settled down in South-east Asia. They married a local girl and raise a family. And even send some money home to their parents in China.

I believe the situation have changed. Nowadays it seems that the ladies are venturing overseas. They marry a foreigner, settled down overseas and also raise a family.

Seems like this trend will continue for some time yet.

Yes, seems that time has changed. Sexual equality & independence call for women to help contribute to family & to be economicaly independent.
It is easier for women to find husbands & jobs overseas ?
Depending on how fast China's economic progress moves, this trend would slow down/stop.
