Please tell me the name of an honest shop where I can buy a digital camera. I know nothing about them and need to trust the shopkeeper. I will be in Hong Kong for Chinese new year.

Honest! Hmmm.... no in Tsim Sha Tsui (district for tourist), prefere Mong Kok or Sham Shui Po.
More shop Near Monkok Station MTR or Golden computer center in Sham Shui Po near Station MTR

Just make sure you get a good brand, with at least 5 megapixels.

Canon's Pro1 or Rebel is a great "one-size-fits-all" if you can
spend the money.

Just remember, you will have to pay a tax on the camera when
you return to the US. Might be cheaper to buy here before you
go...
