In late October I will be arriving in Beijing from Chicago, where I'd like to stay for a week or so and in early November I'll be returning hoime from Shanghai. Before arriving in Shanghai, I'd like to see the Warriors and do the Yangtze River - Three Gorge Cruise. What would be my most economical and easiest plan for travel? Thank you

From Beijing overnight train to Xi'an is great saves on accomodation and you get there in the morning!! From Xi'an it depends flight to Chingqing for the cruise and then bus from Yichang to Wuhan and train back up to Shanghai. Hope you have a great trip.

Yes, taking overnight trains is the best way to save on costs of flights and hotel rooms. Fortunately there are overnights trains from Beijing to Xian and then to Chongqing, and from Yichang/ Wuhan to Shanghai after the cruise.

Have a good trip!
